The Demoniac

From Felix:
Have you ever in your life met a demoniac person (openly demon possessed?) Have you been involved in praying for such a person as this for a week?  Do you know the smell of demons? It is incomparable to anything else you know.

I went and visited a very scary demoniac person that was known by the whole village as being such.  Some have died and others have went through much troubles because of his demons.
My first visit this man was to develop a friendship.
But the second time I cam to visit, the demons were very furious when I arrived.  I had a Discovery Bible course study to give to him.  When he began reading the demons stopped him.  They  threatened him that they were going we are going to kill one of us!

On the third visit we asked if we could pray together.  He was very happy for the prayers and was hoping that his restless type of life will stop. And he started to get peace.  He was then able to study the Discovery Bible course and even read the bible.

On another occasion we invited a choir from another location to come for a special program.  Many people from the village including this man were invited for the special singing and service.  While he listened to songs, the demons started to disturb him, and told him that he should get away from this place.  Several people and I came together with him and prayed together for him.
We had special prayer sessions for this man for a week.  We give praise to God because Jesus has set him free in answer to our prayers.
Now he is a happy church member, free from the harassment of the devils.  And now the villagers also are happy and praising the Lord for the radical change of this person.
Currently I have 12 people studying the Bible with me, 4 people are ready for baptism, and 28 church members are now in this place.
Please pray for the work continuing in  Kwatwanga village.

We Lived in the Church

Life is not always a bed of roses.  Sometime it is full of thorns. To survive we must bend with the wind; only dead ones are stiff and can not bend.  They break.

God called us to be lay missionaries in a place that we we did not know.  When we arrived, we found that there were lots of challenges in this new place including the following: a small house, it was very hot, the river has crocodiles, there are monkeys in the trees, there is no garden, and for crossing the river  it had to be done by canoe.  Even with all these challenges we knew God called us to serve Him in this location.

We lived in that small house that we rented for three months when the owner of the house came back and asked us to leave.  We didn’t know where to go.   With no other answers, we decided to move in the church hoping to be there only for a short time.   We ended up staying  for four months.
We made bricks to build a house but it took a long time to finish the house and to get it ready to live in. The biggest challenge was each Friday and Saturday.  People would come to the church for Sabbath opening and on Sabbath day.  We had to get out early in the morning to make the church clean and ready for services.  So all of our things we took out and put under the tree waiting to take them back in after the sunset.

God helped us to continue to work even though we had many trials.  Now God has moved us to a new location and we thank God that he worked through Kibidula to provide metal roofing sheets to finish a place so we could could have a place to live in the new location.
We thank God for his protection and caring for us.

God Still Gives Miraculous Healings!

Alfonsi is a young man of 17 years of age. He is still living with his mother. This young man developed a bad problem from his feet to loin.  He was taken to the clinic for help but nothing was helping him with his problem.  After receiving care from doctors for a long time without any relief, he was taken to the witch-doctor.  Even with this, there was no improvement and they lost all hope.   They returned home to wait for his death.
Just after this time of losing hope, it happened that I started visiting the houses in that area.  When I started in that area, I didn’t know anything about their problem.  I believe God purposely brought me to that specific house at that time.
Alfonsi was unable to walk, so anytime that I wanted to do anything to help him, I had to come to the house since he could not go anywhere.
It was a very difficult time for his mother.   With Alfonsi laying nearby, I had a conversation with his mother.  She told me that nothing could be done to save the life of her son.
When I heard her say this, I told her of the stories in the Bible of how Jesus dealt the people of different circumstances if life.
When they heard about Jesus, their hope began to grow  and there were waiting for that miracle to come to them.  I asked the young man if he believe in Jesus and that will heal him. He said, "Yes, I believe."  We had a session of prayer session before I left.
The next day after these happenings when I arrived at his home, I saw him seated leaning against the wall of the house.
Then, the third day when I came,  I didn’t find him home at all.
I asked his mother, "What happened?"
She began by telling me that he had walked to go to river... by himself ...walking.
God still answers the prayers of faith and gives hope to those who seek Him.
This young man is now healed and continuing with his daily activities.
He and his family are really happy knowing that God is able to bring hope to people.
Now we are having good Bible studies with them and continue to pray with them.
Please pray for the work that is continuing in Ntungwa village.

God opens a way to get land to build a church in Kinyuko

From one of the Kibidula lay evangelist moved to Chikomo village to spread the gospel.

It had been difficult to be accepted in a Mus|im community.
One of many challenges was finding a place to stay in this non-Christian place.  I was able to rent one room in a Mus|im family's house.  In that one room I have had to live with my wife and  three grown up children.   We used a curtain to divide the room to give us a little privacy.    It has been difficult for us but we had found no other way.
We went to the village and asked a plot of land to build a church but received no response.  Many others from other churches have tried to get land to build a church in this area but they all failed.
God worked in answer to our prayers and we praise the Lord that God gave us a miracle of being given a plot to build a church for Him.  The church has built and people are now worshiping the One True God in this previously unreached area.
Eleven people have accepted Jesus and are ready for baptism, and there are three more that continue to study in preparation for baptism.
And God has helped us to get a second room to live in.
I thank God for all of the blessings He has given us, for helping us to get land and build a church, for people opening their hearts to His love, for being given the second room separated from my children and for the way he continues to work in this difficult area for His glory and the saving of souls for eternity.
Please pray for the work in Chikomo village.

The One Who sent me opened the Way

Listoni  Mtemela  is working in Mbesa along with his wife and four children. They have stayed there six months at the time of this story.

When we arrived at our place to work for God, we knew what was needed. We were thinking how can we approach the people? My plan was to conduct the Quest Sabbath, three days meetings. I didn’t have the money for that, but I asked God to open the door.  Things remained difficult. Then we decided to fast each Wednesday.  Finally God in his love opened the door and we got 150,000 TSH.

Life was not easy with the people around us because of starvation.  People were coming to me asking for food.  I tried to help as I could.  The atmosphere changed due to people telling each other that if they come to me they could get food.  Because of this it caused me to finish about all the food I had. Finally I ended having only 300 TSH.  Life was very hard to me.  The maize flour we had was now only three (3) liters.  Then somebody came to early in the morning telling me the really bad situation that they had at home.  We decided that we would give her one liter of flour.  That left us with only two liters.  We used one liter.  With only one liter remaining we prayed to God asking him what are we going to do? Money and food are gone.  Then in the evening we saw somebody coming towards our house.  To our amazement he gave us 10 liters of maize.  Three days later another person brought to us about 7 liters.  And again someone came with 15 liters of maize.  From home my fellow church members sent some money.  God answered our prayers. This is the miracle which God did for us.

One of the challenges in our area is its being a Musl*m area. 90% of the population is Isl*mic religion, is hard for people to join Christianity and is not easy to convert a Musl*m.  They need time, observation, and then they can decide what to do. Please pray for us as we continue to work for God.

Lay Missionary Needs

I took this post from the director's blog verbatim.

Several people have been asking about helping out and something that I think would be worth I that we need about 15 new bicycles for missionaries at about $90 each and several small sound systems at about $150 each. This is a big one but a couple of used motorcycles at $2,500 for two of the missionaries with a huge territory and they are supervising other missionaries under them. If you are looking for a project to support, these would all be good. And did you know that we have less sponsors than missionaries? Several of our own staff who are already making very little are sponsoring one or more missionaries each. For just $90/ month you could sponsor a missionary in a remote village to establish a church where there are no Adventists and not only help to hasten the coming of Jesus, but also save some souls who would otherwise perish.

A Man from Heaven Heals People

Health evangelism works!

Ihowanza is a village inhabited by the Hehe tribe who are superficial Christians in which 50% depend on witchdoctors.  Kibidula has established a company of 20 church members there and there is still a population of 1,500 unreached people.

Kibidula allocated me to this area as a lay missionary after going through a health evangelism course (in addition to my other training.)  I thank God for health wedge. Now it came to pass that in this actual village a certain lady had been sick for a long time. They had taken her to different places for healing but it didn’t work. Final they went to a witchdoctor who tied her with beads and charm on her neck and hands to appease the evil spirits. This witchdoctor warned the relatives not to remove those things tied on her.

One of the relatives of the patient got information about my ministry and that many people have been helped in their health cases; advice was given and action was taken to call me. I prayed to God that His glory would be manifested.  After ministering for almost a week with that patient, she developed faith in Jesus, and then I asked her if she will prefer to remove the beads and charms.  She agreed. Then we had prayer sessions, simple remedies application including advice. Since this she was healed.

But some of the relatives were so very angry to the point of calling local guards to arrest me, asking me why I removed all charms and beads given by the witch doctor!  This is the answer I gave to them.  I told them that there is a Man from heaven.  He healed your patient.  He comes to minister and He goes to Heaven. That Man is Jesus.  If you are courageous enough, wait when He comes again, then arrest Him.  Then they were afraid. The healed lady accepted Jesus and other people are still struggling to make decisions for Jesus, please pray for them.
